Dehumidifiers FAQ

Why Is There No Water in the Water Tank/Bucket Yet?
For the unit to remove moisture from the air and draw water into the bucket, the set relative humidity (%RH) must be below the current or ambient room relative humidity.

What Do I Set for Less Humidity?
Use the decrease button (down arrow or "-" sign) and set a lower %RH (changes in increments of 5%). A lower setting is always drier than a higher one. The lowest possible setting is 30%, which is very dry. The highest setting is 90%, which is very moist, damp or humid.

What is the Recommended Setting?
We recommend a setting between 50 and 60%RH, as is most comfortable for you.

Why is the Unit Running All the Time?
Some of our models has the fan on continuously to circulate the air in the room in order to have a good reading of the area and to reduce humidity before it builds up, which would result in making the unit work harder. It is also meant to remove the noise associated with both the fan and the compressor coming on and off at the same time.

Can I Cancel the Fan Running All the Time When Unit is On?
Some of our models has the fan running all the time to help with humidity sensing. You cannot cancel the fan running on such models. However, you can set the fan to lower speed for quieter operation if you so desired.

What is the Timer?
The Timer is a non-essential feature that allows you to have the unit run for a certain amount of hours (between 1-24, some models has 4-8-12 Hours only) before automatically turning off; or, alternatively, to remain off for a certain amount of hours before automatically turning on.

How Do I Use the Timer?
When unit is operating, it displays the current humidity. Press the TIMER button to set the machine to turn off automatically, as per the below timer settings table. Timer "off" light will be ON, 5 seconds after displaying the timer, the display will change back to current room humidity and confirm the set timer. When unit is off, press the TIMER button to set the machine to turn on automatically, as per the below timer settings table. Timer "on" light will be ON, 5 seconds after displaying the timer, the display will display to turn on time and confirm the set timer.
Some of our models setting The Timer can be activated by 1. Pressing the Timer Button (the button with a simple clock face drawn on it) then 2. Using the increase button (up arrow or "+" sign) to choose the number of hours you want the machine to continue running before automatically turning off or, if the unit is already off but still plugged in, to remain idle until automatically turning on.

Can the Timer be Set to a Daily Cycle?
No. The Timer can only be used to set the unit to turn on or off after a specific number of hours (1-24, some models has 4-8-12 Hours only). Once the set number of hours has elapsed the Timer will be cancelled and will have to be reset.

How Do I Cancel the Timer?
Press the Timer button (clock symbol) till the indicator light shows no digits.

What Does "Lo" Mean?
For the WDH-945EL, if the display screen shows "Lo" (or the right display screen is showing "Lo" in RDH series models), then there is too little moisture in the air for the unit to remove any more moisture from the air. This means the ambient relative humidity (%RH) is below 30%, which is the minimum setting.

What Does "Hi" Mean?
For the WDH-945EL, if the display screen shows "Hi" (or the right display screen shows "Hi" for RDH series models), then the current ambient relative humidity is very high (above %90, the unit's highest setting). If the machine has been running for over a day and still displays "Hi", then the machine is likely unable to manage the humidity in the environment. This may be because the area is too large, the area is not sufficiently sealed or the area the unit is operating in produces an inordinate amount of moisture, beyond the unit's capacity.

What Does E1 (or E2 or E3, etc.) Mean?
This is an error code. Turn the unit off by pressing the power button then unplug the unit. The unit requires repair by a qualified technician. Do not attempt to repair the unit on your own. We recommend returning the unit the place of purchase with the receipt for a replacement.

Does the Unit Come with a Drain Hose?
No. The unit's direct drain is rather designed to work by using any standard garden hose.

Do Dehumidifiers Suck Up Water?
No. Dehumidifiers remove moisture from the air. The water needs to evaporate before the dehumidifier can remove it from the environment. Water that cannot be pumped out after a flood because it has been absorbed needs to evaporate first, at which point the dehumidifier can then remove the excess moisture from the air/environment, thus helping to dry out the area.
